ACERCA DE / ABOUT
Through this experimental project I will reflect on a daily space where millions of people transit every day: Mexico City subway. I will survey how the subway affects our daily life, our bodies, and our time. This travel will allow investigating a nomad urban practice; to analyze a space of violence and conflict but also of dreams and possibilities.
The idea is to randomly interview people, specifically women, in order to collect route stories and to make a visual registration (photography and video) mixed with other artistic interventions. The daily life of this space will be approached in a critic, questioning, creative and playful way. I would like to raise common women stories from anonymity. The idea is to analyze women’s strategies for appropriating the city due the differences of gender. I believe that different social groups occupy the city space in different ways: women are the collective that suffer most of the violence, in a very discriminatory sense, and my images will witness how they react.
